catch up

getting behind in blogging sucks.

I have like a month of stuff to blog about.

admittedly probably boring as snot to most people, but I took the pictures, and the kids and I might want to remember it, so I will probably still blog about it, but still ....

when you're so far behind it starts to feel like a chore.

bah.

when I stay on top of things I like to think of it more like a creative outlet.  (as lame as it may be)

so....

stay tuned for a month of highlights from our annual trek to Utah. Ü

"I'm not dead...

...I feel happy!"  (ten geek points if you can name that movie)

Really, I am just a slacker.

Actually a slacker on vacation- so that's worse.

I have one blog post in the works, but it has a bunch of pictures and I can't decide whether to split it into two posts or not.

We've been busy, and I am feeling a little overwhelmed, and then I start to question whether anyone cares about our trip to Legoland, etc, but then I have to remind myself that this blog is for me, and my kids, and I shouldn't let worrying about boring people to death hold me back from something my family loves so much.

So, as soon as I get back to my laptop in a few days, (I am on John's now) I will begin to deal with the last three+  weeks of not blogging, too many pictures, not enough pictures, a faulty memory, etc.

But until then, I will continue to enjoy my time making memories with my family and John's mother and sister, and my niece and nephews and not worry how I am going to document it all.  (My camera has spent more time in my pocket than out.)

Sigh...

blogging is going to annoy me if I can't space things out they way I want to. It seems that I could write a whole stinking novel, and it will end up being one giant paragraph. :(

AAARGH!!!

It drives me insane when blogger messes with my line spacing!!!! I must have tried to edit that last post several different times, trying to put a space between paragraphs, but no line spacing between the items in my list. I either get it all mashed to gether- Gum keys wallet chapstick pens pillboxes or it puts huge spaces between lines. Gum keys pens pillboxes. Are you kidding me? These are my choices?!?!? I finally settled for no spacing between paragraphs, and huge spaces in my list. GRRRR. Edit (10 seconds later) - this post was full of all sorts of line spaces to illustrate my point, but blogger took them out!!!!

Guest postings

I've mentioned before that I am really enjoying Zach's essays he is writing in school, and really want to share them with people, but am not sure my blog is the place to do it.

As I was reading his latest and chuckling to myself, I was wondering the odds of getting him to re-write them and post them on his blog.

Not likely.

So I decided for posterity's sake, I am going to step in and post some of his essays on his blog.

He already did the hard work. I'm just gonna type it in for the grandparents to read. (and his future kids)

So feel free to check them out.

(He is also really excited about me taking pictures of his latest Lego projects so he can post them on his blog as he creates them.)

Our blog book -the 2009 edition

Ever since I published all my blogs from the year 2008 in a book, my family has been on my case about publishing 2009.

They have loved having it in the house. Looking at the pictures, reading the stories, taking a stroll down memory lane....

2009 finally arrived on our doorstep yesterday.

(I think the best part is that Nick has been on the computer all day on his own blog, because in 2009 all the kids were a bunch of slackers and contributed very little to their blogs and want to see more of their own stories in print next year.)
PS- I have deleted and re-uploaded that picture a half a dozen times!! I have no idea why it is sideways. I CANNOT get it to go right-side up!
